Machinima isn’t typically my thing… but tell me this isn’t story + game:
The Craft of War: BLIND from percula on Vimeo.
Wonderfully done. Fight scenes this complicated can be headaches to choreograph and cut, but the elaborate layers of action here are somehow never confusing and are often downright lovely.

Two things:
1) The fight scenes remind me of our last game of Strange Legion. That’s praise for Percula
2) The WoW addict in me was fascinated by how Percula took something very familiar to me and made it even more alive.
As you say, fantastic blocking and editing here. It’s never spatially confusing, which is more than you can say for a lot of the action movies coming out of Hollywood these days.
Is this kind of soundtrack choice common for this kind of thing, though? That’s the only real misstep here, as far as I’m concerned.
Wow. That was an incredible piece of composition. I’m amazed at how well everything came together and at the dynamic way the models moved. The only thing I’ve seen close to that, in the field of video games, is an old PS2 game called Jet Li: Rise to Honor where your attacks animations were cinematic and had more to do with the scene on the screen and less with the actual buttons you pushed.
The soundtrack is a bit … unique, but the author’s explanation makes sense, plus it kind of grew on me around the end. Nice find Will.
