I’m flying out this evening for Columbus and Origins. Among other nefarious activities, I’ll be working the Adventure Retail booth, which represents Atlas Games, Steve Jackson Games, Fantasy Flight Games, and diverse others at the show. Find me there, if you want to chat.
Adventure Retail is also carrying Things We Think About Games. As reported earlier, it’s nominated for an Origins Award. Balloting for the award itself takes place at the convention, among attendees. If you haven’t seen our book, come check it out and then cast your ballot in a state of blissful education.
I’ll arrive around noon Saturday and depart around 3am that night. (Yes, that’s right — I’ll be in Columbus for fewer than 20 hours.)
GPW readers, make yourselves known.
Awesomeness. I’ve wanted to pick up Thins We Think About Games since I read about it here. Hope you guys have a good time at the Con, and I’ll definitely swing by and make myself known.
A quick update for those of you following along at home: We did not win the Origins award. We did, however, lose to a spectacular book: Ken Hite’s Tour de Lovecraft: The Tales.
So huzzah, all the same!
Jeff tells me I missed you, John. Sorry about that. I was around for just a few hours on Saturday, and signed only one book for someone I didn’t know before. Maybe we’ll catch you at Gen Con?
I was running games for 12 hours that day. Never made it back down to the exhibitor hall. I’ll definitely be at Gencon with my copy, and I won’t be running anything but pickup games there. I’m highly impressed by Things We Think About Games so far, and I’d definitely recommend that everyone pick it up.
